I'm an Experimental Psychologist at the National Research Council of Canada and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa. My research bridges sleep, circadian rhythms, and health with environmental factors including light, temperature, and natural materials.
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), where I have conducted research for over five years, and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa.
My research investigates how environmental factors — including light, temperature, and acoustics — influence mental and physical health. My current postdoctoral work at NRC has expanded my research into the acoustics of mass timber buildings, building on a longer-standing interest in how the sensory environment and natural materials shape human health and well-being. I aim to advance interdisciplinary research that explores how the built environment can promote human health, well-being, and restorative sleep.
Outside the lab I participate in the Canadian Sleep Research Consortium, where I advocate and support initiatives to help educate Canadians on the importance of the timing of light for sleep and health.
When I'm not in the lab, I'm chasing light with a camera. Photography ↗
I am open to research collaborations, graduate student supervision, and industry partnerships in sleep science and environmental psychology. Feel free to reach out via email, connect on LinkedIn, or follow my research on Google Scholar.
